I like my hearing aids because they fit me well and they’re not as annoying as the other ones and they’re pretty much my size. At first I started with red and blue molds and then blue and white and then we just went with the clear because kids just kept saying, “Where’d you get them? Where’d you get them?” and it was pretty annoying and I didn’t want to be explaining it over and over again and that’s why I got the clear ones because they’re harder to see.

It Has Sparkles!
I like it because it has sparkles on it! And it’s easy for me to change the batteries on it. All I have to do is clip the part. It’s good, I love it!

At First it Might Feel Funny
Well if you got hearing aids, at first it might feel funny, but then you get used to it. Your teacher might read a book about hearing loss for the other kids to understand it. And maybe next year if they still do that, you can bring in an old ear mold in a plastic baggy and show all the kids so they can get a close look at it.

It Feels Better When You Get Used to the Hearing Aid
When you first put it on, it kind of doesn’t feel well, but when you get used to it, it feels good. It’s easier for you to hear much better. It feels louder, it feels nice and loud and you can hear real good.

I Can’t Get Earrings
I can’t get earrings because that would be too much for my ears, so I call these my ‘earrings.’ It makes me feel like I have earrings. My friend calls them earrings. I have one implant and one hearing aid.

I Can Hear a Lot Better
I told my mom that hearing aids help me hear a lot better than when I don’t have hearing aids in. Most of all I can hear slight changes in whatever is going on around me like if there is a slight change in the air conditioning. The only thing not so good is that you might not want to hear them, like when I’m in bed with my hearing aids on I can hear my brother pulling his comforter up or he’s turning over. If I want it to be very quiet I just turn them off.

Sometimes I Forget I Have Them in
I wish I could figure out the cure to having a hearing loss. The cure might be better than having hearing aids. Sometimes I forget that I have them in and I have to touch my ear to make sure they’re in.
