"I think that we're hearing more and more that kids are being teased both in and out of school and in their homes. When kids are being teased at home, we really like for them to share that with us because it certainly can sabotage their treatment and their attempts to become healthier. We like to address that with families directly and explain that they really need to be supportive of what their kids are trying to do. Even when they may not be making good choices themselves, they still need your support instead of your criticism. Because a lot of times kids' self-esteem is pretty low, and they don't need the additional reminders from somebody else about that too."
