William R. Beardslee, M.D. is Academic Chairman at Children's Hospital Boston and the Gardner A. Monks Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He has devoted his career to understanding childhood depression and developing ways to prevent it. Dr. Beardslee has shown that families can understand depression and take steps to prevent its emergence in their children.
