Postcards From YOU! is a film festival for kids. Producers of the PBS Kids series ARTHUR and POSTCARDS FROM BUSTER are inviting children to submit one minute videos about anything they’d like to share: family, friends, hobbies, pets. All genres—mysteries, comedies, animation—are welcome. Selected entries will air on the ARTHUR TV show and Web site: http://pbskids.org/buster/videos/fromyou/.
ARTHUR—based on Marc Brown’s best-selling books—is one of the most watched children’s programs, with over ten million weekly viewers (Source: October and November NTI). ARTHUR has won numerous awards, including the George Foster Peabody Award and five Daytime Emmys—three for Outstanding Children’s Animated Program. ARTHUR is produced by WGBH Boston and Cookie Jar Entertainment Inc. Executive producers are Pierre Valette, Lesley Taylor and Toper Taylor. Marc Brown is executive creative producer. The award-winning ARTHUR Web site is located at pbskids.org/Arthur.
POSTCARDS FROM BUSTER is a half-hour ARTHUR spin-off series airing daily on PBS KIDS GO! Targeting six- to eight-year-olds, POSTCARDS FROM BUSTER has two educational goals: to build awareness and appreciation of our nation’s cultural diversity, and to support the development of language, literacy, and communication skills among English Language Learners. In POSTCARDS FROM BUSTER, Arthur’s best friend, Buster, joins his dad, an airline pilot who’s flying Los Viajeros, a rock group, on their North American tour. Buster has a video camera to record his new friendships and discoveries and send “video postcards” back to his pals in Elwood City. |
