INTERVIEWER: Do you ever struggle with remembering to take your medication?

MICHAELA: A lot of kids with ADHD, their parents will ask them, “Why didn’t you remember to take your medicine this morning?!?!” I can’t count the number of times my sister or I have just stared at my mother and been like, “Mom, I have ADHD. If I didn’t have it, and I was able to remember, I’d be able to take my medicine. But then I wouldn’t need it, because I wouldn’t have ADHD.” So mostly, if they forget it, they probably really do forget it. They’re not like trying to forget it—they have ADHD. They have issues remembering stuff.
